At age 17, B.J. McGuire left his home town of Durant, OK to serve his country in the Korean War. After four years of service he returned to Texoma as a purple heart veteran. Following in his father's footsteps, B.J. began working in construction, gaining experience with several local companies including Lankford Construction. In 1963, he decided to open his own company, B.J. McGuire Construction based out of Pottsboro,TX. For the next 30 years, B.J. and his crew served in Southern Oklahoma and North Texas pouring residential and commercial slabs. A few years prior to B.J.'s retirement, Dennis Hulsey, one of his son-in-laws, came to work for the company full-time. In 1992, Dennis took over the reins and has continued to provide excellent concrete construction service to customers in Texoma ever since. Dennis' son Billy Joe (named after his grandpa) was the third generation to join the company when he started working summers at age 14. Sixteen years later he is a partner in the company and intends to continue the family business. In recent years, B.J. McGuire Construction has branched out serving customers not only in Texoma but from the DFW metroplex all the way to Tulsa, Ok.
